got kicked out…

i’m currently at some grubby rundown motel that crisis care had arranged me to stay in coz the women’s refuge is full…

i’m shitting myself because firstly i’m not even sure if the lock on the door works…so i’ve arranged the pram and a few chairs to at least cause some sort of obstruction if such an event occurs…its 4am in the morning and i just heard a guy -dunno drunk have a little growl, seconds later starts banging on the window next door…there’s no lock on the windows…i’m already inching by just laying on the bed…baz is sleeping…wishing i had bought more baby food and water coz there’s none here…gotta boil the water from the bathroom…erk erk erk…EVERYTHING’S SO DIRTY HERE I JUST WANT TO DOMESTIC/BLEACH EVERYTHING…have tried to at least satinise the bench top and a few cups and saucers…the reception won’t be around until 8am…I JUST WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!

how did i end up even sleeping at a place outside my beautiful home…well…

been arguing a lot with ayman lately…was planning to leave last week since he was not prepared to buy a new kettle but he managed to talk me out of it…thought he could fixed it…-yeah, the last time he fixed something the fuse blew and i was without any electricity for most of the day in 40C degree heat! was not going to risk it…just seemed as if whatever i asked was a burden for him to get or do…he could spend hundreds on massages, acupunture just to fix up his shoulder blades and ribs but he couldn’t spend even $30 to buy a kettle which WE ALL USED including baz for his milk…and he would always nag about how much i happen to “waste” his money…

he said if he didn’t like the way he does things then i should leave, but if i left it would mean i need a divorce…

today’s fight was about him bringing home a shoe cabinet which he wanted to transform into a normal cabinet for him to store his books…its the time of the year when everyone throws out any junk they don’t need for the local council to collect…i don’t mind any diy but do it in the right way…not only was this cabinet already falling into pieces what pissed me off more was him putting this on our already wobbly study desk….if he had drilled it to the wall i wouldn’t mind but he was keeping this metre high cabinet in place with only a piece of cable held down by drilling a hole from the study desk…

baz is already crawling, wanting to sprint if he knew how, so told him what if this fell on baz…

he didn’t care…

so then came the usual line, if he didn’t like his decisions then i should leave…

i shook the cabinet just to test and i was right, ddn’t take much for it to fall off…all of a sudden he starts chucking my clothes out of the inbuilt wardrobe and tells me to leave…

that was the final straw…

can’t believe he prefers to live and hoard more of people’s junk- barely have any space to put even my clothes yet alone baz, then making sure his family, especially his son is safe, yet alone buy anything –of quality too…

  1. Dear [name],

Wow, your blog has such real information about life in Egypt. Thank you for being so honest. Would you be willing to write a guest post on my blog/site for women travelers, http://www.pinkpangea.com? It would be great if you could send a photo of yourself in Egypt, and write about your experience in Egypt and provide some helpful information for other women who want to travel there. You can email me at rachel@pinkpangea.com.

Can’t wait to hear from you!
